Sabbath

One thing I used to love about MD was the beautiful, sparkly, green, hue of the trees. The sunlight bounces off them in a pleasing manner. It’s the time of year of the dancing green and again I enjoy driving down the roads and seeing those gorgeous greens.

 Church was good. Fast Sunday dinner was delicious, as per usual. 

And I am reading my second non-text book of the year. The first was “The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate”. I liked it.

The second is “Lessons in Chemistry”. Which I am  enjoying a lot. 

Cat tails

Every day starts and ends with cat shenanigans now. 

I think this was taken last night. May in Utah. Cutest family:)

Avalanche has a near perfect record. They’ve lost every game but one. 

Rob and I went to the temple this morning. It was a beautiful day there. 

Val & Ryan and Spencer & Maddie are in the DR.

Kenz and Brandon are in Boston. 

Jenna and Clayton are flying to Europe. 

We have a traveling family!

Poor Darcy is sick, and Poor Dani is watching her. Hopefully she will get well quickly. I wish I was there to help, I hate for anyone to suffer alone!

Friday

I have been putting off writing my theoretical perspective paper. The truth is I can’t settle on just one. Eventually I took an online quiz and wrote on that theory. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I also went to the grocery store. Every time I go I think the prices have gone up and up.

The girls had their ballet photo shoot today. So cute!

It’s cold here. I have to dress warm. You know where it’s not cold. Florida.

Zzzz

 12:08 on Friday morning. My bio clock is a bit of a mess. Changing time zones is not a big deal for me normally, but red eyes are tough. 

So Wednesday morning I works up at 7am. Had a nice day with Hannah and went to the airport for a 7pm flight. 

Had the worst flight of my life from Idaho Falls to SLC. So turbulent. So crazy. We were all over the place. The lady sitting next to me grabbed my hand and said she wasn’t a prayer sayer but she was praying. 

Landed and told Rob I planned to walk home…but instead sat in the airport for a few hours and caught the midnight flight back to Baltimore. That flight was much better. I didn’t sleep but it was a normal flight and we must have caught a good jet steam because it only took 3.5 hours which is considerably faster than normal. 

Drove home and now it was 9am on Thursday. 

So I checked out the new deck that was built while I was gone, pulled down our paper shades (waiting on the ones we ordered) and finally crawled into bed. 

I got up at 3, which isn’t enough to count as a whole nights sleep but for some reason I am awake. 

Good times.

Flying home

These past 9 days have gone by so fast! Ridiculous!

We had such a fun time. Lana is a sweet & sleepy baby. Hopefully that will be the case for a long time.

Ezra is darling and a little fireball but he does obey. Before you take off his car seat straps you have to remind him that he has to hold you hand. Then he does. He picks up his toys and lays down for a diaper change. He can count to about 10, his vocabulary is growing each week. He is gentle with Poppy and ❤️❤️❤️his mom.

I’ve enjoyed spending this time with them so much.

Tonight is the band banquet. The parents put it on this year not Mr Darraugh. I’m sad not to be there, but we have a very fun band graduation party that we will be there for. 

 

Tuesday

These cuties had a BBQ last weekend. It’s fun for them to live near each other! This morning we went to the playground. While we were there we FaceTimed Dani and had a fun chat.

Sweetest baby in the world 😍

Sandy hung Grace (and Blake’s) senior banners up. So crazy! Graduation is in less than 3 weeks!

 We played, cleaned, had lunch. I finished a paper. Sawyer went to school. Jenna FaceTimed from their Colorado getaway where everyone is having a great time! It was a good day.

Tomorrow I fly home. Jenna and family are flying into SLC at 4pm, I’m flying in at 8 for a layover. So bummed! that I’m missing them. Also Val flies out Thursday night at 7 so I’m missing her by one day! Dang it SLC!

Haircuts, papers, sunshine

Lana had an appointment this morning and she’s growing well and looking good. Ez and I stayed home and watched Miss Rachel. 

After her appointment we went to db to pick up a tie tack for R, then to Cal Ranch to look at the chicks.

We took Ezra to get a haircut repair. It went horribly. I held a leg and an arm, Hannah held a leg and an arm, a salon worker held his head and then a second one cut his hair. There was weeping wailing and gnashing of teeth. The haircut did turn out well.

The girls there were super sweet. I told them that he had sensory issues and that his OT was working on it. They had some great suggestions: get a toy barber set and let him get used to the noises and the tools. Stop by the shop from time to time so it looks familiar. Get a sucker while visiting so it seems like more fun. 

After that we went to McD for lunch and playground time. Then home for naps. Then to the park for some sunny playground time. Then when we got home Sawyer took Ez to the apartment playground. That’s 3 playground visits today for those of you not keeping track! 

 Besides that pesky haircut I’d say he had a good day!

I’ve been doing homework during naps and in the evening. Got a paper almost done today!
