Memorial Day

Hannah and Sawyer left today. It was good to see them. She has a lot of work to do finishing up her last semester, it’s so exciting that she’s graduating!!
Greg did lots of yard work. The kids helped. We cleaned up inside. Then Dani and Greg went on a fishing date. Her wader had a hole in it so she had a frosty foot but they each caught a fish.
Jenna and Clayton took the girls kayaking.

Sierra and Chris went somewhere. Idk where though.

I took the kids to the All Abilities park.

After everyone was done we had flag cake and hot dogs, then we watched Cruella.

Ethan and some other missionaries went on a hike. He seems really happy on his mission.

Grace and Rob went to Jess and Isaiah’s so everyone had something fun to do!

Also I am grateful for the brave men and women who have fought for freedom on our land and in lands around the world. Freedom is never free and I hope we will always fight for it.

Sabbath

This morning started out with pancakes for everyone and then haircuts for Greg and Ez.

We went to church. The Brandt’s made a family goal to read the whole Book of Mormon last year and today we finished. Marshall was the one who woke up and said “today we should finish reading the Book of Mormon”. We had ten pages left and had to read it in two sittings but they did it! It was very special to be there for that last chapter and to feel the spirit in the home.

This evening we went to Val’s we had a Hawaiian themed dinner. I made huli huli chicken and Polynesian ramen. Val made watermelon and kawaii krunch kake. Everything was delicious!
There was a corn hole tournament, “Come Follow Me”, Skull King and Uno.

And here’s a photo from last night:

Hogle Zoo

Today we went to the zoo. It was Ruby and Cora’s first time to the zoo, Ezra’s 3rd zoo trip.  Everyone had a good time except Sierra. She didn’t really want to go in the first place.

In the evening I went with Tori and Rob to Kenneth and Reagan Butterfield’s first wedding anniversary party. They got married during Covid. It was at her parents house and it was really nice. The Howard’s were also there and it was great to see them all.

Sunny days

We went to the all abilities park this morning. It is super nice there. All the equipment is new and inclusive and so very cute. The water features are amazing. It was a lot of fun!
After we watched Tatum’s 5th grade Zoom graduation at StickChick

Hannah and Sawyer drove down from Idaho  today. They got here right as we were going to Marshall’s game so Ez got to go to his first tee ball game. He was so cute crawling around and smiling at everyone.

Sierra had wound care and did her therapy. She is improving each day. Her arm looks better, it’ll be while before it’s healed but we are headed the right direction. Her OT is focused on getting her back behind the wheel and stretching for now. Eventually it’ll be strength building. Speech is focusing on language skills. Her other cognitive areas are less impacted. It’s a journey and Sierra is a warrior. I know it’s so hard for her to give up her independence and to live with pain and disabilities for the first time. She’s a tough cookie and I am impressed with her awesomeness.

Middle of the week

We had zero appointments today! Don’t worry we have one a day for the rest of the week. All the Utah crew are huge Jazz fans. They are in the play offs so there’s a game every night. Which means there is a gathering, which I love.

Jo did nails and then we made a “midnight run” to FiZ (at 10pm) Utah has the best 🥤!
And then we got home and Penny announced that it was super hero day at school tomorrow so we got to work!
One tee shirt of Greg’s, a pair of scissors, and a marker were employed to come up with Super Penny!

2 doctors, 2 games

We had two appointments this morning. In between them we walked and sat at the Provo temple.
After dinner we had two baseball games. Marshall’s was first and then the late night game was for Tatum.

Moving forward

Rob flew home on Sunday morning to be with Grace. She has had a hard year. Her school work is good but not quite as good as it has been; Covid? Chronic pain? Being 16? Idk. She has lots of friends, which is great and rewarding. Also she has lots of friends with lots of big problems. It’s an interesting time in history and the world is certainly in commotion.

We went to church and had the family over for a BBQ and come follow me and the Jazz game.  Sierra had a sad night. Today is a better day. It’s all up and down and crazy Daisy.

This morning we went to OT. In the afternoon J and I took the girls and Marshall to the Museum of Curiosity. It was really fun. Those three are best friends and so cute!

Hunting

These two went fishing. They caught lots of fish.
We went to Modest Molly’s birthday sale and everyone found great stuff. It was really fun too, they had swag bags and free gelatos.

Grace went to a backyard prom. She said it was fun. I miss that cute blondie!

Jenna and Clayton took the girls camping to Goblin Valley. They said the trip was a success. Their bar for a good camping trip is really low;)

Hannah is working hard on all her last semester projects! She’s almost done with school!!

Chris went bear hunting. No bears were harmed in the endeavor.
