I should be studying but my classes are super hard and my hammock arrived.

Today I met Amy in Leonardtown we walked around the shops and down to the wharf. Then we had lunch at the doo dah deli. Mostly we talked and laughed.
When I got home I had work to do. I did not laugh. One of my classes so is hard. (Math).

I have one more math class after this one. If I can pass both of these them I'm golden. This one is on psychological testing and the next in on research methods. 🤞

Weekend

Darcy is so cute! Clayton took the twins camping this weekend and Darcy got to have a mommy and me date.
Love this picture of the Crawleys💕

This weekend was good. I taught RS today. Yesterday we ran errands and I did school work. We bird watched. We are getting lots of birds in our yard, which is fun.

I’ve been baking. Today I made half wheat half white bread. It was pretty good. Rob needed to go to the Henderson’s to pick up some wood blanks so we took a loaf to them while we were out doing errands.
My classes this term have a lot of reading. I have three classes. This week one of them had over 300 pages of reading, a test and a paper. The second one had only 100 pages, 2 quizzes and no papers. The third had a couple hundred pages, a test, hours of video to watch, and one paper.
This cat helps me study. Our weather has been so pleasant. It’s in the 70’s during the day and just a little crisp. I sit outside each day with my books and it’s lovely. I’d like to get a hammock and study in it…but I’d probably just nap and it’ll probably be too hot soon.
Just kidding I ordered one, Amazon…you kill me!

While we were out getting our backyard meat I saw a sign for elms beach, which was we remember I love, so I asked Rob to make a stop. I’m so glad I did. They have a darling playground and a nice picnic area and fun beach front. I can’t wait to take the grands there to play.

Backyard meat stand. We got a roast for Sunday, some duck eggs and some homemade cheese.

Bonus photos: the Brandts in St George enjoying a 3 day weekend.

My bed is so comfortable, especially in the morning. I don’t know what it is but I can just sink into it and feel hundred percent cozy. After Rob leaves for work in the morning I usually grab my laptop and start doing schoolwork. I do this from the bed. I actually have a little office right next-door to our bedroom but I don’t have a comfortable seat yet. It takes time to get all the things you need. This is a bad place to work because sometimes a couple hours pass and I realized I haven’t gotten up to shower yet or done anything outside of my bed. This feels decadent and lazy.

So far the weather has been really pleasant in MD. It’s been in the 70’s this week. Yesterday I was studying on the porch and I actually had to go inside to grab a blanket for my legs. I know it’ll get hot soon. I remember summers in MD but so far it’s been very chill.

We subscribed to a meal delivery box. I decided on hello fresh, for no particular reason. I’ve made two dinners so far and they’ve been good. It was less expensive than grocery shopping but I feel like the portions are not huge. We have two more to try this week, and I went ahead and selected meals for next week too. The verdict is out.

These two💕 I miss all the grands. It feels like it’s been a long time since I’ve spent time with them.

I drove to a nearby park this afternoon for some scripture time. Our home is quiet and peaceful so it wasn’t that but I wanted a change of scenery I guess. The water is always a favorite view.

I had no idea how beautiful the Grand Canyon was. I thought it was 🏜️ desert but I guess not.

Saturday we drove home. It was uneventful. We drove. Drove. Drove. Found all well at home.
Sunday we went to church and had the elders over for dinner and I finished the work I didn’t get to in Florida.
Today I started this weeks work. Made peach dessert. Unpacked.

Rob installed the bird feeders. Ethan and his friends made it to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back up in 8 hours.

Grad Party

The senior’s band moms got together and planned a party. I was mostly gone for the work weeks but was a cheerleader from afar.
It turned out really fun!

crystal ball

Well, here we are.  All the kids are graduated! We had a good day.  The ceremony was nice and after we went to DS and had lunch at Blaze (Grace's pick)
Later Isaiah brought the kids over to swim and we ordered 4 Rivers.  Tom and Diana and Jess are in Seattle meeting baby Olly. It was fun to see them and we enjoyed splashing around in the pool.
The ceremony was at the Amway Center. In the end, they had fireworks.  I had never seen indoor fireworks, they were loud.  If you think Lincoln looks unhappy about his hat you should have seen how happy he was about the explosions.  (he was not)
Tomorrow Rob and I head back to MD.  Grace will stay here until the end of July.  I often wish we had access to a crystal ball and could look into the future.  When we found out we were moving we thought Grace was on track for a bright futures scholarship, that she wanted to go to school in Florida, that she had a wonderful senior band year ahead of her and and she was set for the best year ever.
So we stayed. And her year was not awesome. Her band experience was a disaster, and now she’s been here without her parents for the end of her school year and the summer before college.
If we had sold our home and made her move it might have been better for her.
We also might have been living in Leonardtown now instead of the wilderness because we wouldn’t have built way out there.
And it would have cost less because the interest rates have gone crazy in the last year.

We did sell the FL house for a good price. And Rob is delighted with our present location. And Grace is delighted to have met and fallen in love with Blake.

Life is always full of surprises!!

Rehearsal

Grace and the rest of the class of 2023 had their rehearsal today. Ivanna sent me this photo!

After we got pedicures.  I spent most of the day doing school. Rob and Grace went to the gym and to run errands after dinner.

Nana, Abba and UB flew in today. Florida is lovely and treating us well.

Personal graduation celebration

We went to Magic Kingdom today with the intention of taking graduation pictures. It turned out to be one of the best Disney days!
We got some really cute pictures which was super fun!
We rode a lot of rides: Tron, Peter Pan, Dumbo, Barnstormer, Buzz Lightyear, Jungle Cruise, Ariel, Pirates, Mine Train, and Haunted Mansion!
We ate lots of treats: churros, nuts, popcorn, grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, a croissant, Diet Coke, strawberry frapes, a chocolate covered banana, an apple, 3 cuties, a shared turkey leg (3 way) and a lot of water.
It was so so much fun!!
Also Grace bought me a birthday/Mother’s Day present at the sunglasses hut. It was such a nice surprise!!!
We had a good view of the parade, looked at lots of stores, and had fun talking.
