Assateague

Today is Hannah’s 24th birthday. She wanted to go to Assateague Island. Our original plan was to camp but Flex is in the shop and my little Subaru is way too small to fit all the things we needed. Way too small. We were crammed as it was and now there is a weird smell so we will have to figure that out when we get home.
Rob didn’t want us to take “crusher” ( Ezra’s nickname for Granpa’s truck.) so he suggested we get a hotel room instead. We made a last minute pivot and although we were disappointed and relieved it turned out for the best.

Tonight it is thundering and lightning and raining and that would have made for some sad camping.

We stopped at the visitors center, which was fun. Then headed to the beach.
Ez loved it. He loved the lifegaurd and was so cute working out next to him.
He ran around and we chased him.
We saw horses but not on the beach.

After we had our fill of sand we went to the hotel and swam in the pool.
Then went to dinner. It was a very fun day.
I’m so happy to get to celebrate Hannah in person. It was a total mom birthday. She got new tires, we chased the kids around, and there was no birthday cake.
I love her so much and hope she feels it today and every day!
