Mother's day weekend

Friday Rob and I wanted to go to the movies.  When I went to get tickets they were $21 a person, so we did not go.  Inflation is hitting hard and it's nuts, thankfully my morning diet coke is still $1. Instead we drove out to Clarmont to see the model homes of the builder we will be using in MD.  It's a different line than what they sell in MD but we just wanted to get a feel for it.  I thought the house was really pretty and Rob thought the construction was acceptable.  After we stopped for BBQ at an on the side of the road BBQ place.  I didn't like it, and felt sick after.  R liked it fine. We came home and watched a movie in our bed.  Grace was out with friends.

Saturday we had planned to go out to lunch but as we pulled into the restaurant Grace called and said her car wouldn't start.  She was at a gas station.  We turned around and went to help her, then we went to Wal mart for some grocery shopping (and a new car battery) and then in the evening we went to the restaurant.  I had been gifted a gift card to Coopers Hawk for Christmas and we needed to use it before Rob moves. My food was so good! I had lobster bisque (delicious), shrimp scampi (which Rob ate a little of too because it's sauce combination was unusual and yummy), and then salted caramel creme brulle.  It was all so good!

Sunday morning Ethan called for mothers day! It was fun to talk to him.  I also got to talk to or text all of the girls and that was the best!

We went to church but shortly after we got there Grace had an itching attack so she and Rob went back home and she showered.  (the only thing that helps), she's been having extreme itchiness recently.  We went to the doc once for it already and he referred us to a GI doc and an allergist (both of which we have appointments for this week and next) but other than that offered no good help.  Then yesterday she got a new rash, little red splotches that bleed.  I texted Alec and he consulted with his pediatric dermatologist and said to go to her doctor today.  The worst part of working is that I have missed a lot of doctors appointments.  Rob has taken her, which is good but I hate to be out of the loop.  This morning she has her AP Calc test and then they will go this afternoon.  I don't even know what we will find out.  The pediatric derm thinks it may be scurvy or petechiae.  We also talked to Craig (who is a doctor, and the father of Grace's friend Scott, and a friend to Grace and all the band kids, who has been helping us out with some direction for her) who thinks she needs to have her platelets checked.  Honestly, who bleeds from their pores?  We should have named her Job.  This is so frustrating and sad and hard.

update: Rob and Grace got done at the doctors.  She most likely has petechiae, EDS related.  Poor little Job.  They are doing some blood work and then we'll see what we do next.

I stayed at church and it was really nice.  The talks were sweet and the ward gave out cookies and all the sisters YW and RS met together for a nice meeting.

And here we are at the start of another week.  I started my ESOL certification course this morning.  Grace is testing, and we are crossing our fingers and sending prayers heavenward that this medical mystery, enigma really, gets solved so she can go to college and live a happy life.
