Summers end

Today was this chickita’s last day of summer. Yesterday she went with Danielle (Lincoln’s trainer/Grace’s dog handling mentor) to pick up a nervous puppy from Susan (Lincoln’s breeder) who Danielle is training. They got to play with all the puppies and of course being dog lovers both girls wanted to take home a bouquet of puppies each!

This morning Grace and I went to her GI doctor. She is seeing a small amount of progress. Sometimes when she drinks water she doesn’t throw up and sometimes when she eats she only throws up a little instead of a lot. Also she hasn’t lost any more weight since last time! Which is a win. If she loses any more she will have to get a feeding tube and we do not want that. And she does not want that. After we went and did her lab work and now we go back in 3 weeks. In the meantime I found a therapist for her, finally. It’s not easy to find someone to trust but a) I really like our GI and she recommended her so that was good b)I talked to her on the phone for a long time and got a good feeling from her, she actually specializes in the trifecta of EDS/POTS/GI issues and is super smart. I feel like they’ll click. I hope they will, and that she will help with the rumination disorder and with the challenges of living with a chronic illness.

In the afternoon  Rob and I went to the movies. We saw Thor love and thunder, I liked it. It was silly but not boring and had a sweet story. After we went to Tijuana Flats and randomly Tom and Diana were there! We sat at their table and even though they were done eating by the time our food got to the table they stayed and visited with us while we ate. It was a fun surprise to run into them:)

Tonight we watched Dan in Real Life, which I had never seen before but really liked.

So that was our day.
