Lincoln’s Birthday!

This morning we went to the Pax ward waffle breakfast and 4th of July bike parade. They had a flag raising ceremony and a scout presentation.
The waffle bar was great and it was fun to see everyone!
After breakfast we went to the base and rented kayaks. Rob and Grace fished. We paddled. Lincoln ran around the shallows and we chatted with another family with a very friendly daughter named Avery.

We had to shower everyone, including Linc when we got home. Even though kayaking isn’t necessarily a wet activity our kayak had a crack and filled with water so we had to wade through a jelly fish land mine to get out and then enlist in help to drag that water logged boat out of the drink. Grace and Linc went first so R and I went to the pool for a swim (she’s a long showerer)
After all that we headed to Solomons Island and met the Martines’ and the Darrows to watch the fireworks. It was such a beautiful night and fun to visit!

The firework show was pretty good, the traffic going home was pretty brutal.
The teens played chess, and the little kids played.

These two have been friends since they were little kids! I’m happy to see they still get along.

  1. Oh no, I'm sorry you had a tough time with traffic. We were out in no time and made it home in about 15 minutes. I guess the key is to get to the car before everyone else does which is why I like parking there so close to where we sit. It was great to catch up with you though and I'm so glad you came!
