Weekend

  • Friday Grace went to a party at Jake’s house. They call is clarinet Kwanzaa.  A great time was had by all and  Taylor drove her home.
  • We had a family zoom meeting. There have been struggles with Michael and sometimes we meet to try to help out. That’s a whole other chapter that’s not really mine to tell.
  • Saturday we did family cleaning hour.
  • Rob and I ran a bunch of errands
  • Grace had a clarinet lesson.
  • Ethan and Jackson went to Bishop Hansen’s to help him tear down his play structure. Then they played basketball.  Thank goodness for Jackson he makes pday so much better for Elder Utzinger!
  • Saturday night Rob and I went to dinner. When we got home Jackson and Ethan were there so we played Ticket To Ride with them.
  • Today was the primary program. With Covid is was very different but it was still so nice.
  • We had a presidency meeting and a YW zoom.
  • We went to the Walkenhorsts for dinner tonight. It was delicious and the company was very pleasant. Alex and Lex Mackey were also there.
  • I put together gifts for the YW Christmas party on Tuesday.
  • Look at that cute Christmas elf! He flies to Florida tomorrow!!

Friday afternoon Grace and I went to the neurologist. She has been having headaches, dizziness, vision issues, a numb eye, hearing loss and has passed out. (Good times).  On top of her chronic pain and joint issues.
We have seen the following types of doctors:  ENT, optometrist, dermatologist, cardiologist, rheumatologist, family practice, physical therapist and orthopedist.

Come soon is ophthalmologist.

So back to the neurologist, we really liked him. The visit went well and we felt very heard and hopeful after.
So he had her stop acutane in case it is exasperating her symptoms which have gotten worse lately. He has ordered an eeg to see if she has epilepsy tendencies, he sent us to
Arnold Palmer for some work that can’t be done outside of a hospital and he said it sounds like she has a pseudo tumor, which is pressure on the brain not caused by a tumor but still damaging and not good. If stopping the meds doesn’t make a difference she will have anesthesia and a lumbar puncture to release the pressure. And then  once we solve the acute issues we will work on the chronic issues. We won’t be able to cure the EDS and its accompanying chronic pain but hopefully some of these other problems will be better managed.
